What’s It Like at the Skim Camp?
While every session is different, depending on the age and number of campers, the foundation is consistent. After a short warmup session, campers get a focused period of individual and group skimboarding instruction. We take breaks for beach games, water and food, as needed.
All 5-day camp participants receive a FREE t-shirt, sunglasses, stickers, and other neat goodies.
How long has the camp been around?
Entering its 11th year of operation, Jersey Shore Skim Camp is owned and operated by Felecia Stratton, a Sea Bright resident and “Skim Mom” with 30-plus years of business experience. She is also the former NJ Regional Director of Skim USA and SkimBash contest director. You can reach her at 732-598-6029 or email@example.com
With professional instruction, and a safe, fun environment, Jersey Shore Skim Camp guarantees you will be excited to get on board with us!
What if I don’t have a skimboard?
No board? No problem! Jersey Shore Skim Camp has a variety of boards in different weights and sizes to fit every new skimboarder. And when you’re ready, we can even help you buy your first board to make sure you make the right investment.
Got a broken skimboard? Don’t be brokenhearted! We also offer skimboard repair services at very low cost.
What should campers bring with them?
Please pack a small bag with a towel, water or other type of drink, and light snack (granola bar, fruit, etc.). Make sure camper is wearing sunscreen.
What happens if it rains?
The decision to cancel or delay the start of camp due to bad weather is made by 8 a.m., and you will be notified by text, email, and/or phone call. If weather forces a total cancellation, we will extend camp hours over the following days to make up the time. If you cannot attend, we’ll extend your camp time to whenever it’s most convenient for you, any other day throughout the summer. If it rains when you are scheduled for a private lesson, we will contact you to schedule a new day/time. There are no refunds for weather delays or cancellations.
Is the camp insured?
Yes, Jersey Shore Skim Camp is fully insured. However, all campers and anyone taking a private lesson must sign a waiver. There are no exceptions.
Should I tip the instructors?
Tipping is not required. However, if you choose to recognize an instructor for extra effort and hard work, tips are always greatly appreciated.
